How do I set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-Factor Authentication adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring a verification code in addition to your password when logging in.
Setting Up 2FA
Step 1: Access Settings
- Login to the support site
- Visit your user page
- Navigate to the Two-Factor Authentication section
- Click "Enable Two-Factor Authentication"
- Check your email for a confirmation link
- Click the confirmation link to proceed with setup
Step 2: Set Up Your Device
- After confirming via email, you'll be taken to the setup page
- Download an authenticator app (like Google Authenticator)
- Scan the QR code or enter the provided key manually
- Enter the verification code shown in your authenticator app
- Save your backup codes in a secure location before proceeding to the next step
When You'll Need 2FA
- Every time you log in to the support site
- When logging into a new device or after resetting your password
- Once every 30 days when logging into the game from a trusted device
Backup Codes
When you enable 2FA, you'll receive backup codes that can be used if you lose access to your authenticator app. These are one-time use codes - once you use a backup code to log in, it becomes invalid and cannot be used again.
Important Information About Backup Codes:
- Each backup code can only be used once
- Save these codes in a secure location
- Never share your backup codes with anyone
- Keep at least one backup code available at all times
Disabling 2FA
To disable 2FA:
- Login to the support site
- Visit your user page
- Navigate to the Two-Factor Authentication section
- Click "Disable Two-Factor Authentication"
- Confirm with your current 2FA code
- Check your email for a confirmation link
- Click the link in the email to finalize disabling 2FA
Note: We strongly recommend keeping 2FA enabled for maximum account security. The email confirmation step helps ensure that only you can disable this important security feature.
